Useful first. Everything else, second.
DigitalMaple is an independent tech publication from British Columbia, Canada. We make practical tools and explain the small decisions that come with owning a computer.
The everyday tech desk
DigitalMaple is published by Mohammad Jowkari. The focus is the everyday side of technology: keeping files safe, understanding an internet connection, making an image smaller, and seeing what recurring software costs add up to.
A good answer should help you take the next step. Sometimes that means a calculator. Sometimes it means explaining why two screens show different numbers. Sometimes it means leaving a setting alone.
What you will find here
Our free tools work in your browser. You can change assumptions, inspect the calculation, and copy a result without making an account. Images selected in the compressor are processed locally, not sent to an upload service.
The guides use official documentation as a starting point, then add plain-language explanations, practical checks, and original worked examples. We distinguish documentation-based guidance from hands-on product testing.
What keeps us honest
We link sources, show calculation assumptions, and publish corrections when a mistake is found. We do not invent reviews, customer testimonials, testing results, or a reason to buy something.
Some drafting and coding is AI-assisted. That does not replace checking a calculation or identifying a source. An article is not presented as a hands-on review unless that work is recorded. See our editorial policy for the full approach.
A small publication, with room to improve
If a guide is unclear, an interface has changed, or a tool gives an unexpected answer, tell us. Include the page and a simple example without private account details. Contact and corrections are handled through our contact page.
